ART PROGRAMS FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH CANCER |
Dr. Razelle Kurzrock has established an impressive professional career that involves a lifetime of dedication to the areas of clinical and translational research, education and training. She currently serves as Professor and Chair for the Department of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics (Phase I Program) and holds the Anderson Clinical Faculty Chair for Cancer Treatment and Research. In her role as Department Chair, Dr. Kurzrock has successfully created the largest hypothesis-driven Phase I clinical trial program in the world. Her exemplary career, spanning over two decades, has allowed her to serve as the Principal Investigator (PI) on over 80 clinical trials and numerous federally-funded grants resulting in over 330 peer-reviewed articles in a variety of elite medical journals. Also of note, Dr. Kurzrock is the director of the MS/PhD program in Patient-Based Biological Research. This unique and innovative program, designed for individuals who wish to become scholars in research pertaining to the human model, was developed under her guidance and approved in 2003 for degree granting by the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Kurzrock’s personal research interests span both novel molecularly targeted agents as well as complementary and alternative treatments. As an invited speaker, Dr. Kurzrock has lectured all over the world. She is the mother of four children and is an avid runner. |
